SVENJA JOHN

MAY 25 - JUNE 14, 2019

I appreciate the precision and accuracy of modern, computer-aided manufacturing methods. Otherwise I could hardly achieve the desired perfection.

Since 1994, I have been working with Makrolon® polycarbonate and computer-aided cutting techniques to produce individual parts for my jewellery designs. I used CAD technology in all my designs, as naturally as pencil and color.

After manual reworking and coloring, the parts are transformed into complex, geometric pieces of jewellery.

The flexible nylon connecting parts, which are produced in the selective laser-sintering process (a 3D print technology), allow me to create new parabolic compounds of the colored Makrolon® elements, new parabolic compounds of the colored Makrolon® elements and give the pieces of jewellery a new impulse. The linear, diamond-shaped impression of earlier works is now enhanced by curved, organic connecting elements.
